Judy’s Kidney Challenge

About My Blog

I’m Judy Beale, a woman in her 60s who has been living with kidney disease for several decades. At this moment in time I am offering a very short story about my journey with a diagnosis that impacts my life and those I love.  In many ways it’s a hopeful story, not from a victim or self pitying perspective.

I’m not intending to focus on the negatives but to share where I’ve finally landed – at the point of empowerment and clarity. It took me a number of years to get here but I’m now ready for the next part which is to face this challenge head on.

Please join me and support me in spirit or practice.

One of my hopes here is to connect with people who perhaps can relate to living with a life threatening challenge and together experience the support of a caring community.   Another more practical goal is to nudge the very special person(s) to consider donating a kidney as a living donor. I am in awe at the capacity for human care and compassion evident in stories I’ve heard of such generosity and selfless kindness sometimes from complete strangers. This has allowed me to go public now as I am living in a brief window – a kind of limbo stage before full kidney failure. I don’t know how much time I have before the next phase but my miracle cure resides in the gift of a living donor. My blog will provide details on the best avenue for me which is finding a Living Donor and/or the option of :

The Paired Living Donor Program.

I know it’s a bold and very BIG ask. I also know I can’t stay silent any longer.

I invite you to read further about the journey in my blog and to stay tuned for posts to follow. Blog for Judy’s Kidney Challenge and Donor Outreach
